The Physiology department of our college has come a long way from its modest beginnings from the days of King Edward Medical School (1878), establishment of M.G.M. Medical College in 1948 and establishment of the department of Physiology with basic amenities according to the requirement of MCI in 1949. Since more than 75 years of its establishment, the department has witnessed multifarious changes and advancements.

The “Department of Physiology” is comprises of Dr. Ajay Bhatt as Professor & H.O.D, with Academic staff of total 3 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors, 3 Demonstrators, 6 Non-Academic Technical/ Supporting staff members, and total 21 PG Students currently pursuing M.D. Physiology course.

The department conducts UG & PG teaching learning activities (for MBBS and other UG courses), mentoring sessions, organise Elective postings for MBBS III rd Prof (P-II), and encourages students to participate in Quizzes, Seminar, CME, WS, Conferences in or outside the institute and guest lectures, CME, webinar, Workshops/training in the institute. The department has 13 seats/year sanctioned for M.D. Physiology and now equipped with modern research facilities for respiratory physiology, electrophysiology, exercise physiology and yoga lab. Till date Post Graduate degree has been awarded to total 54 candidates.

As a team all the members of the department are working for the constant progress of students, the department, and the institute.
